Deep in the woods a giant prowls;
he has enormous ears.
When in the sky the thunder growls,
he barely even hears.
He motions idly with his hand,
as if to shoo a bee,
and mutters - and it shakes the land
and all the creatures flee.
But when a rainy time draws near,
he lays him down to sleep.
A pond forms in his giant ear
where shepherds water sheep.
But should the giant turn around
while drowsing, sleepily,
then all come tumbling to the ground.
What a calamity!
